[00:00:44] Speaker A: Today we're talking about the season of Thanksgiving. I'm Mackenzie Curry Yuzwak, and here with.
[00:00:49] Speaker C: Me is Oliver Curryswack to ask our.
[00:00:52] Speaker A: Dad some questions related to Thanksgiving. Ollie, why don't you start us off with the questions?
[00:00:58] Speaker D: What's up?
[00:01:01] Speaker C: Hello, Ollie. Hello, Mackenzie.
[00:01:04] Speaker D: Hi, dad. Let's begin with this or that. Questions. Gravy or cranberry sauce?
[00:01:13] Speaker C: I say cranberry sauce.
[00:01:14] Speaker B: No.
[00:01:15] Speaker C: Gravy.
Okay, what about you?
[00:01:19] Speaker D: Gravy. Gravy's better.
[00:01:21] Speaker E: I say neither.
[00:01:22] Speaker C: Ah, good answer.
[00:01:24] Speaker F: Parade or football?
[00:01:25] Speaker C: Football.
[00:01:26] Speaker E: I'd say parade.
[00:01:28] Speaker D: Parade.
[00:01:28] Speaker C: Okay, this is the thing.
You and Mom's obsession with the Macy's Day parade is something I continue to not understand.
[00:01:37] Speaker F: Okay, well, we watch football all the time, so parades can watch once a year.
[00:01:43] Speaker D: Football is not any more special on Thanksgiving.
[00:01:47] Speaker E: Exactly.
[00:01:48] Speaker D: It's the same exact sport.
[00:01:50] Speaker C: I mean, I do like the musical numbers, so there's that.
[00:01:54] Speaker F: It's true.
[00:01:55] Speaker C: All right.
[00:01:58] Speaker D: Cook or clean?
[00:01:59] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:02:01] Speaker E: What?
[00:02:02] Speaker C: Both.
[00:02:03] Speaker F: Okay.
[00:02:05] Speaker C: What do you do?
[00:02:06] Speaker D: I cook.
[00:02:08] Speaker E: I would say cook, too.
[00:02:09] Speaker C: Do you clean?
[00:02:11] Speaker D: No.
[00:02:12] Speaker C: Yeah. Notice.
[00:02:15] Speaker E: Pumpkin pie or apple pie?
[00:02:19] Speaker C: Apple pie.
[00:02:21] Speaker E: Oh, actually, yeah. Oh, I thought you were a pumpkin pie.
[00:02:24] Speaker F: No, I'm a fan of pumpkin pie. I don't like apple pie.
[00:02:28] Speaker D: Yeah, apple pie is not as good.
[00:02:30] Speaker C: But we make one.
[00:02:31] Speaker E: No, we make pumpkin pie.
[00:02:32] Speaker B: No.
[00:02:33] Speaker C: We may have my mom's recipe. This is going well. We have my mom's recipe for apple pie.
Okay, this is controversial.
[00:02:45] Speaker D: Cornbread or crescent Rolls?
[00:02:47] Speaker C: We should all answer this one at the same time. Let me count to three. Okay. One, two, three.
[00:02:53] Speaker E: Crescent Rolls.
[00:02:56] Speaker C: All right, now, what is special about our traditional crescent rolls?
[00:03:03] Speaker E: You burning them every year, you burn the crescent rolls no matter what you.
[00:03:08] Speaker F: Do to try and change it.
[00:03:09] Speaker C: I know this is a problem.
[00:03:12] Speaker G: Okay.
[00:03:12] Speaker E: Black Friday or Cyber Monday?
[00:03:15] Speaker C: Neither. I don't like the association of Shopping with this particular holiday.
[00:03:24] Speaker D: I don't really know what either of those are.
[00:03:30] Speaker C: Kenzie, any feelings?
[00:03:32] Speaker E: No. I don't do either.
[00:03:35] Speaker D: So I don't know.
Dressing or stuffing?
[00:03:40] Speaker C: Stuffing.
[00:03:42] Speaker F: Okay, but what is dressing?
[00:03:46] Speaker C: Do you know what dressing is?
[00:03:48] Speaker D: No.
[00:03:49] Speaker C: I think we just learned that dressing is if you make stuffing, but it doesn't go into a turkey or a tofurky.
[00:03:56] Speaker F: Okay, so then we make dressing, but.
[00:03:58] Speaker C: We make stuffing, but we don't put it in.
[00:04:01] Speaker D: We don't put it.
[00:04:01] Speaker C: We don't stuff it, but it tastes like stuffing.
[00:04:06] Speaker G: Okay.
[00:04:06] Speaker C: And this is important because there's a curry version and a used whack version of stuffing. Of dressing.
[00:04:13] Speaker D: Dressing.
[00:04:16] Speaker C: Well, one is simple and rich and delicious and one has all kinds of stuff going on and is delicious.
[00:04:26] Speaker G: Okay.
[00:04:27] Speaker A: Takeout or home cooked?
[00:04:29] Speaker C: Home cooked.
[00:04:30] Speaker G: Yeah.
[00:04:31] Speaker D: More magical that way.
Let's move to a harder question. What's your favorite Thanksgiving memory?
[00:04:44] Speaker C: Do you have one?
[00:04:48] Speaker D: San Juan Island.
[00:04:50] Speaker F: That's what I was going to say.
[00:04:51] Speaker C: Can you say more about that?
[00:04:55] Speaker F: I liked how we got this big house with your parents on the water, and then just like after every meal, we just got to go out and stand on the deck and watch the water.
[00:05:07] Speaker C: That was the Thanksgiving right before the pandemic. And that was when my mom and stepdad renewed their vows.
[00:05:15] Speaker G: Oh, yeah.
[00:05:15] Speaker C: Do you remember that?
[00:05:16] Speaker F: Pancakes, PJs and promises?
[00:05:19] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:05:21] Speaker D: The pancakes were the best part.
[00:05:23] Speaker C: I think the promises were the best part.
Sorry, mom, we won't send you this one.
Yeah. Favorite Thanksgiving memory? I remember that one. Growing up, Thanksgiving was a big deal in my household.
Thanksgiving evokes just kind of this has a feeling, and I love that. It's about family and gratitude.
It's not so much about the stuff, it's about the people, for sure.
[00:05:58] Speaker F: Okay, what's your favorite curry's whack ThanksgiVing tradition?
[00:06:04] Speaker C: I think cooking together.
[00:06:06] Speaker F: Yeah, I would agree.
[00:06:08] Speaker D: Yeah, that's my favorite part also.
[00:06:10] Speaker C: Because whatever we do, we try to do a big, long day together and just try some different things and help each other out and burn the Crescent roll.
[00:06:20] Speaker D: Yes.
What do you like best about Thanksgiving?
[00:06:29] Speaker C: Again, just the focus on gratitude. A moment to reflect on all we have and all I'm fortunate thinking about you two and Nicole and my family and friends and my work at EPS and just all the things that one can think about and give thanks to.
[00:06:57] Speaker F: Yes.
Can you tell us a dad joke?
[00:07:04] Speaker C: Do I tell dad jokes?
[00:07:06] Speaker D: No, you don't really tell dad jokes. Well, you tell jokes, but they're not dad jokes. But they're still bad.
All the room.
[00:07:14] Speaker C: Dad, I'll throw a recent one out to you.
What did the zero say to the eight.
[00:07:24] Speaker F: Oh, I know this one.
[00:07:25] Speaker D: Yes, I'm. Nice. Belt.
[00:07:29] Speaker C: So good.
Ollie, one more last question.
[00:07:36] Speaker D: What do you think before today?
[00:07:39] Speaker C: Well, I'm glad you could come on in and we could talk a little for I'm thankful for the opportunity I've been given here at EPS. I'm thankful that I get to work with such great people, and I'm thankful that I have such a supportive family as you.
[00:08:02] Speaker D: How sweet.
[00:08:06] Speaker B: Thanks for joining me, kids. And I hope everyone listening has a relaxing and refreshing Thanksgiving break filled with family, friends and crescent rolls.
